Hello Family,
This week has been fairly good, Elder McGill and I didn't have a chance to do as much work as we wanted because of conference and interviews with President Smart, but, I guess it was worth it ;). We get to have interviews every other transfer and we go to the temple that transfer as well. Our interviews lasted about 12 and a half hours. We were supposed to show up at like 10:50 and they were supposed to go till 11:30. NOT… we went and got there a little early and they said they were like a 1 late. Whammy, lets go tracting. We went tracting for an hour and came back and we were still there for a good 2 hours, waste of time; but good anyways.
My favorite conference talks would probably have to have been either Hallstrom's or Holland's. Hallstrom was an eye opening one. Also President Uchtdorf's during the Sunday Afternoon session. Conference as a missionary is the best. Because one, your in your suit, so you can't fall asleep and it's just WAAY nice. Also one is more in tune with the spirit with the black tag on.
We are about to start refreshing the teaching pool, nobody is progressing. It's really sad to have lessons when the spirit is strong to knock you on your butt and then whoever it is doesn't show up to partake of the bread and water. That's probably the hardest thing about being a missionary. We work and work and work, then we start seeing changes in people's lives.....and out of the blue, they give a right hook to the gospel right in the mouth. Unfortunately it's not just investigators, it's members as well.
I know there are a ton who read the blog or email list or whatever....and I know a lot haven't been to church in a while (months, years). But I promise you, as a set apart representative of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that whatever it might be that is holding you back from going back to church, maybe you got offended, maybe it's been an act of rebellion against your parents, you've gotten lazy, you're too prideful to admit that you need church.....WHATEVER IT IS.....IT'S NOT A GOOD ENOUGH EXCUSE NOT TO SHOW UP AND RENEW YOUR BAPTISMAL COVENANTS WITH GOD YOUR ETERNAL FATHER THROUGH THE BREAD AND THE WATER. It's as simple as that. I went through that stage myself. There was a time when I HATED going to church. The commandments are too hard, it took too much time, I wanted to rebel against my parents and I chose to hit em hard....church. Now, that I look back it was the most miserable time in my life. Think about the sacrifice Jesus Christ went through for each and every one of us.....how can I not simply go to church once a week and devote 3 hours a week to feel the Spirit? It's something needed for our salvation. Those who I'm speaking to know who they are. Please realize that I love you and miss you all so much. You are in my prayers multiple times a day. I love you and hope you don't just read this and brush it off.
