Memorial Day

Hello Everyone,

This week has been a decent one, kind of slow but nonetheless, blessed. We have done some hard work, and hopefully we'll see about 4-5 baptisms in the coming 2 months or so. We don't have time because we've got a super busy day planned out with 8 lessons planned...so I'm really sorry about the shorty email.

This is the Lord's work. I love having the blessing of being born in this country where I can go about worshiping the true Jesus Christ, and my Heavenly Father, the way He commanded it to be. I love this Gospel, I love this work, I love these people (even the weirdo black guy sitting across from me in the library while he watches inappropriate videos and talks to himself and lets out all kinds of gases with no shame).

Ricardo's doing great and is excited to go through the temple a year from now. Julio isn't doing as hot as Ricardo, but still progressing.

I benched 315 yesterday....it was a good week. Love you all and sorry again for the shorty email!

Love you all,

Monday May 21, 2012

Hello everyone,

This week has been a great week. We talked to a lot of people and taught a good amount of lessons. We had Ricardo's baptism, which was great. He was soo elect it was unreal. It's awesome how when one goes out and works, the Lord either puts people in your path for you to talk to or he just drops people in your hands who already have a testimony of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon before being taught (Ricardo).

We have been doing LOTS of work in this area. When we first got doubled in, this area was deader than the Jazz after being swept by the Spurs....sucks. But when one simply goes out and works, and has a little bit of intelligence, things start to happen. Fun fact, Elder Mcgill and I replaced Elder Fisher (my trainer) and another companion he had. They were here for 3 transfers and didn't have a single baptism....xp.

I'm so excited to be able to start teaching Ricardo's family, He has a wife and two kids who are baptisable. That's really what we’re out here for, we're here to bring FAMILIES to Christ. Julio (the brother of Eric) is getting baptized the 27th, and that leaves us two sisters and their husbands to teach and baptize as well.

Jaime was a bust. It was just a cool experience that happened. IDK we'll see what happens with him.

Mike mi hermanito! Me alegre que ya has recibido tu llamamiento para servir el senor. Te quiero y espero que este comodo en tus g's jaja. (My brother Mike! I am pleased to see that you have already received your call to serve the Lord. I love you and I hope that you are comfortable in your g's)   haha.

Saturday, was the day when all the catolicos went and did their first communion which means.....Riverside was STREWN with parties all night. In this mission we count our daily contacts, I don't know about other missions. But, we got 115 oyms (open your mouth[contact])! Huge day, we planned for 140 for the week, so ya, we did dub.

Anyway, se acabo el tiemp entonces tenemos que irnos.( Sorry, it’s time for us to leave…)

Love you! Have a great week!!!

IT"S A MIRACLE!

Monday May 14, 2012
Hello everyone,
Talked with the family yesterday for Mothers Day, so I'll just send a quick miracle we had this week. Like 2 weeks ago we received a referral from a guy who lives in St. George, but comes down here a LOT because his horses are down here. He rides with a guy named Jaime. He doesn't know where Jaime lives but we said we can meet up somewhere to talk to him  (not too promising).
Jaime lives in Norco, a horse town at the opposite side of the area where we live. We decided to take a "Norco" day, and went to tract and didn't think anything was going to come out of it, while we were golpeando puertas (knocking on doors), we saw a guy riding a horse, down the street. I said, "Elder Forster run and talk to that guy it's Jaime!"
I was completely joking. Lo and behold, IT WAS JAIME!! I guess being sarcastic is the Lords way as well. Great miracle and we'll start teaching him soon.
 Love you all! T.Q.M.

P.S.  We talked to Matt last evening on Mothers Day...truly the highlight of this mother's  Mother's Day!  He looked great, sounded great and was so kind and sweet to all his siblings, anxious for Mike's news and for him to go to the temple and Lizzy's wedding!  We couldn't be prouder and more humbled by the way Heavenly Father molds these missionaries into men.  Having a missionary is the BEST!  Can't imagine how wonderful it will be to have TWO in the field at once-amazing spirit in our home!  Can't wait!

New Companion-Elder Forster

May 7, 2012

Dear Family,

This week has been kinda dece but good. We talked to a lot of people, however, didn't get hardly any lessons. We taught Ricardo the plan of salvation, this guy is golden. Accepted everything, had a testimony of JS and the LDM before we even knocked that metal security door one finds all too often here in Riverside (faith doors in missionary language).

We taught Julio (brother to Eric our RC who got baptized last week), we taught the restoration and he accepted to be baptized on the 27th of May. We received a referral from one of our members. Her name is Jennifer, and she is from Peru, got baptized at 8 and went inactive. Wants to come back to church and has kids.  Lots of things are happening in our area that I'm excited about.

My new companion's name is Elder Forster. Great guy, been out for 20 months, and he's serving in his greenie area for his last. That's cool, I hope I can do that as well. He is 6'3 is planning on walking on to USU's bball team. He's from small-town Colorado, and graduated with a whopping number of 25 other students in 2010. Something that I'm excited about is he brought in a TON of weights. He brought an Olympic size bench with a couple plates, about everything from 45lbs to 10lbs in dumbbells, and is willing to share! For the past 3 months I've gotten up at 5:45 and lifted until 7:00. I'm excited to serve with him. He is a great missionary who has had a lot of success. The only thing I'm worried about is he's a TERRIBLE driver, absolutely awful!

I'm going to hit my year mark on Fri and I'm excited to work my butt off for the 2nd. Last night we had a charla fogonera on the book of Mormon. It was incredible. We invited 5 surrounding Spanish congregations, to attend. We had Jim Parks come and give it. He served his mission in Argentina and has been workin with beaners ever since so his Spanish is immaculate. He talked about evidences of the Book of Mormon. There are so many it's UNREAL! The Book of Mormon is true, without a doubt in my little diabetic heart. I could read it for the rest of my life and be satisfied. I feel so special to be able to know this gospel and be blessed enough to have been born into it. All those who haven't read in a while, READ. If you're inactive, GET ACTIVE, in the words of Jeffery R. Holland (that guy's mah boy). You can know it's true whoever you are and it all starts with YOU. Love you all and miss you tons!
